What’s New? Chatter is rising again on the subject of re-adopting the tax break for first-time homebuyers at the federal level. A similar measure was introduced in 2008 and provided a credit up to $7,500 for first-time home buyers. This initiative could be structured as a zero-interest loan that is paid back over several years or as a full credit. (Marketwatch)

What’s New?Zillow Offers and other i-buying programs charge sellers fees that currently average around 7.5% of the price the company pays for their homes. That is 25-50% higher than a conventional real estate transaction with a licensed Realtor. So if commission is a factor when selling a home, why now all of a sudden would sellers be ok to pay enormously INCREASED fees/commissions to sell their home, unless of course, they were desperate to sell. And they would be paying this for a significantly lesser volume of service, time, infrastructure, not to mention the often lower prices these i-buying programs are almost certain to offer if they want to make any form of profit when they re-sell that property. Often the i-buyers improve the property and pocket the upside that would otherwise have gone to the seller.(Compass)

What’s New?On average, customers who sold their homes to an iBuyer netted 11% less than people who sold their homes on the open market, MarketWatch’s analysis found. (Marketwatch)

What’s New?A 40,000-square-foot 1930s-era trophy home perched above the Bel-Air Country Club that has twice set the record for highest price of a residential real estate sale in the U.S. was listed for sale at $225 million yesterday, making it the most expensive home publicly listed in the USA and a contender to unseat the current California record-holder for selling price: $119.75 million set earlier this year for the former Spelling manor in Holmby Hills. Of L.A. County’s 5 sales of $100 million or more, four have historical or architectural significance. (LA TIMES).

What’s New?In a recent survey 95% of respondents believed we have a civility problem, and 70% believed incivility has reached crisis proportions. Incivility impacts productivity, hijacks focus and creates stressful environments. (Mastering Civility)
